Two in a row and all for a good cause as Garlen Fredericks, 45, slipped on his running shoes to tackle Saturday’s ultra run as well as the 21km race the following day, finishing in 06hr53min33sec and 02hr29min respectively. Fredericks has been training five days a week, averaging two hours a day to help him prepare to tackle this mammoth task to help raise funds for Trinity Children’s Centre, and independent Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre in Eastridge. Funds raised, he said, will go towards text books, a sports fence, a school van and mobile library. If you’d like to assist, call 073 097 7991
