The body of Lindsay Opperman was found in Morgen’s Village around 10.30am on Tuesday September 5.
The chairperson of Woodlands Residents Association, Clarence Human, said a resident had witnessed the incident and tried to get help.
“She was walking towards Harmony Village. She took a shortcut through Sovereign when a man followed her, pulled her back, raped her and tried strangling her. A lady tried calling for help but by the time she returned, Lindsay had passed away,” he said.
Police confirmed that a woman whom they described as being “in her twenties” had beenassaulted and possibly raped. No one has been arrested as yet, said Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut.
