Since surviving a broken heart, Tyrone Williams, of Morgenster, has put pen to paper to help process his feelings.
The 27-year-old says he started journalling in 2016, writing almost every day, and he soon ended up with a pile of poems.
He says he was spurred on by what he was feeling following the break-up of a four-year relationship and the death of his grandmother.
“It was just a build-up of emotion, and I needed an outlet.”
Last year, he decided to compile an anthology, which he self published in December as The Relationship Syndrome.
“I want to help other people who have had their hearts broken,” he says. “I want them to know they are not alone. You’re not the only one. I want them to know that they can share their thoughts.”
He used free apps to have the book published and sold online, he says.
At the moment he is training to be a Metro police officer and is half-way through writing a work of fiction.
