More than 20 people, aged between 16 to 60, from the Cape Flats and surrounding areas completed an 11-week permaculture course.
They trained at and graduated from the Schools Environmental Education and Development (SEED) Urban Abundance Centre, based at Rocklands Primary School, on Friday June 4.
The programme, including theory and on-the-job training, changed participants’ mindsets about how to manage their environment, harness natural resources like wind, water and soil to produce flourishing gardens, ecosystems and being resilient when faced with possible stints of drought or load shedding.
