More than 30 pupils, most from Mitchell’s Plain, received bursaries of R1 000 each from the Progressive Principals’ Association (PPA). Their school principals will administer the bursaries. The deserving pupils’ names were submitted to the PPA who hosted their fourth annual bursary function at West End Primary School, in Lentegeur, on Thursday November 29. The association hosts annual bursary functions in different regions in the Western Cape and have awarded bursaries worth more than R200 000. The pupils were also given stationery packs and the principals were encouraged to use service providers who support the work of the PPA, which was established to improve teaching and learning environments.
