A Lost City teen with a rare form of epilepsy shared a meal with his neighbours in Silver City on his 18th birthday.
Daniel Jongbloed is being raised by his single unemployed mother Shirley. They have moved all over and lived in bad circumstances.
He is on medication for this chronic non-communicable disease of the brain that affects people of all ages.
Daniel wants to encourage other youth to do good.
“Things are really hectic for him.
“But he manages to rise above his circumstances and wants to encourage other young boy’s that no matter your situation, no matter your circumstances; you can make it. You don’t have to turn to gangsterism and drugs. Even if you are fatherless. You don’t have to be a school drop out. You can make it,” she said.
Ms Jongbloed thanked Shameema’s shop in Erica Way, Gustav Hendricks and his wife Imke for their contribution towards the food.
