Family and friends of cancer survivors and those who had died, gathered at the annual Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa) Relay for Life at Westridge High School on Friday March 6. Teams of 10 to 15 people spent up to 12 hours walking or running around a track, in celebration of cancer survivorship and acknowledging its presence in communities. Chairperson of the organising committee, Saadiqa Abrahams, thanked everyone who took part, sponsors, donors and cancer survivors for showing up. “The event was a huge success because of you,” she said.
