Police are calling on anyone with information about a fatal stabbing in Westridge last week, to contact them. The body of a 30-year-old man, who had been stabbed in the chest during an argument with his assailant, was found in Dagbreek Avenue, around 8.50am on Tuesday May 28.
The deceased is believed to be a homeless person and has not been identified. No one has been arrested and police are investigating a case of murder.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a pedestrian was killed when he was hit by a green BMW 530i in Eisleben Road, Westridge. The man, 64, was declared dead on the scene, around 7.30pm, on Monday May 20, having sustained injuries to his head and upper leg.
When police arrived, the 35-year-old unlicensed driver was on the scene, and was issued with a fine for driving without a licence. Police said they would present the case docket to the state prosecutor who would decide whether charges would be laid against the man.
Mitchell’s Plain police recently made a number of arrests for the possession of drugs, imitation firearms and a firearms
On Wednesday May 29, at 2.45pm, they arrested a man, 20, with 27 “stoppe” and one “bankie” of dagga and 10 whole mandrax tablets in Bietou Street, Eastridge. Later that day, at 5.40pm, police arrested a man, 21, with 40 “stoppe” dagga and 22 half mandrax tablets in Hartbees Street, Eastridge. The suspect faces a charge of possession of drugs. Just more than 30 minutes later, at 6.15pm police arrested a man, 20, in Garcia Street, Tafelsig after he was found to have 18 straws of heroin on him.
The three men were all charged with the possession of drugs and appeared in court separately, on Friday May 31.Around 7.30pm on Thursday May 30, Mitchell’s Plain arrested a man, 29, with an imitation firearm in Chevrolet Street, Beacon Valley. He faces a charge of possession of an imitation firearm and is expected to appear in court soon.
That same day, police arrested a man, 35, with a silver-coloured revolver at a wendy house in Ellis Park, Beacon Valley. He appeared in court on Monday June 3 on a charge of possession of prohibited firearm.
Later, at 11.05pm, police found a boy, 17, with 32 packets of tik, five whole mandrax tablets and three and a half mandrax tablets in Bietou Street, Eastridge. The boy was arrested and faces a charge of possession of drugs. He is expected to soon appear in court.
On Saturday June 1 at 11.15pm, Mitchell’s Plain police found a bag with one 9mm Bruco firearm with its serial number removed, a magazine with one 9mm round, a Taurus .38 revolver, five rounds in the chamber and a blue Mobiwire cellphone. Police arrested two of the men, aged 20 and 30. They face charges relating to the possession of firearms and possession of ammunition and a third charge of resisting arrest.
