Forty Mitchell’s Plain Early Childhood Development (ECD) centre representatives took part in a workshop about fire extinguishers at the Westridge fire station on Thursday June 8 and Friday June 9. The workshop was hosted by the Department of Social Development and Early Childhood Development and the Cape Town Fire and Rescue Services. The aim of the workshop was to teach the importance of having a fire extinguisher; how to use it and when to use it. The representatives were also informed about the different types of fire extinguishers in the workplace and creches. Each ECD then received a fire extinguisher for their centre.
