A wheelchair-bound man, , Abubakar Seddick Jumat, 21, from Eastridge, was shot six times in his upper body last week.
The murder took place opposite a well-known butchery in the Town Centre, on Friday May 4. The shooter allegedly wore a white muslim prayer top.
Mitchell’s Plain police said the motive for the killing was gang-related and no arrests have been made.
On Wednesday May 2, police noticed lights among the dunes at Wolfgat Nature Reserve, off Baden Powell Drive.
On investigation they found four men stripping a Toyota Avanza. The suspects fled and police gave chase, catching one – a 31-year-old man from Searidge Park. He was found in possession of a fully-loaded, homemade zip gun and 11 rounds of ammunition.
The Toyota, with registration CF 50214, was found to have been hijacked in Mitchell’s Plain.
On Wednesday May 2, a 53-year-old man was at his home in Jonkershoek Street, Tafelsig, when seven men entered the house and stabbed him. They stole two boxes of silver jewellery, takkies, R3 500 cash, a DStv decoder, a bicycle and two Huawei cell-
phones.
