Five men found guilty of the murder of a Strandfontein father are due back in the Cape High Court for sentencing on Monday May 7.
Zingisile Kleinhans, Siphokule Bulana, Xola Nakumba, Themba Jijaji and Mongameli Dyani shot and killed dad of two Grant Fredericks, 39, in Strandfontein, and took his car, which was later used in a jewellery store robbery in Claremont on September 20 2016.
Mr Fredericks had been at a tuck-shop in Milano Street, San Remo, buying a cooldrink, when he was shot in the back, after which the men fled in his red VW Polo.
The next day, they tried to rob the Robb Trigg jewellery store in Claremont, where they were nabbed by security guards and cops.
His car and an unlicensed firearm, gloves, a fake firearm and a screwdriver were
seized.
The men faced 12 charges ranging from murder to attempted robbery and the possession of an illegal firearm.
