Artists Q.Rock and VonD have won the Hip-Hop and Pop award at the Influential Women Artes Awards.
Quinten “Q.Rock” Swartz, from Lentegeur, and Westridge resident Chivonne “VonD” Kemp’s song was selected from the Top 10 Africa Radio channels around the African continent.
The awards reflect on women who make a difference in their communities, said VonD.
They walked away with the award on Saturday March 11 at the Baxter Theatre, hosted by Big M Production.
“We feel really honoured to be nominated at this big event focusing on our women. This awards show is usually held in Johannesburg but this year we got to attend it in Cape Town,” said VonD.
Q.Rock said their music style is a “melting pot of good vibes such as hip-hop, rap, R&B, dance hall and pop”.
“We are all about feel-good vibes with a message in our music,” he said.
VonD has just released his latest Afrikaans single called Kan ‘n Manan Nie featuring RJay and LK, as well as Must be you featuring Mr Cee. He is also working with Q.Rock on their collaboration on a hip-hop, jazz single called Move To The Left and will be sharing more on their social media platforms.
