Mitchell’s Plain community police forum’s (CPF) Hyde Park sub-forum hosted a thanksgiving ceremony at Tafelsig High School hall on Saturday December 15, for neighbourhood watch block committees and police.
The service also commemorated the international 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children Campaign, which takes place annually from November 25 (International Day of No Violence against Women) to December 10 (International Human Rights Day).
Pensioners Maria Diana Maloy, 67, the longest-serving member, Norma Cogills, 64, and Neels Engelbert, 63, received awards and were acknowledged for being first in the line of fire and leaving their families to help their community.
