Police arrested two men, aged 17 and 18, for the murder of Tauriq Pietersen, 26, who was shot on the corner of Eisleben and Snapdragon roads, in Lentegeur on Wednesday June 1.
According to the police, Mr Pietersen was working on a taxi on the side of the road when three men approached him and started shooting.
He had multiple wounds and died at the scene.
The two men will appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court soon on a murder charge.

During the crime prevention operations across Athlone, Grassy Park, Lansdowne, Lentegeur, Mitchell’s Plain, Philippi, Steenberg and Strandfontein, officers seized 41 units of heroin, 773 packets tik, 291 mandrax tablets and 6,5 kg of dagga, along with five guns.
* A nine-year-old girl was hit by a Silver BMW on the corner of Highlands Drive and Swartklip Road on Sunday May 14, at about 12.20pm.
The registration number starts with CA 262.
The child sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital. Lentegeur police are investigating a case of reckless and negligent driving.
