Tafelsig salute

Dolomite sports field, in Tafelsig, was a hive of activity on Human Rights Day, Monday March 21.

The family fun day was a collaborative effort between the Mitchell’s Plain Community Police Forum’s Tafelsig West Subforum, neighbourhood watch and Ward 82 councillor Washiela Harris.

At the entrance to the sports field, the Tafelsig Military Youth Cadets formed a guard of honour to welcome guests and members of the subforum, neighbourhood watch and SAPS.

Young and old came out to support and participate in netball and soccer matches, and players were all served refreshments.

Constable Aviwe Batyashe, Tafelsig West neighbourhood watch member Ann Dreyer, Warrant Officer Esmeralda Jacobs, Tafelsig West subforum chairwoman Charmaine (Connie) Adams, and SAPS gender-base violence awareness activist Rifqah Taliep.
