Residents of Lentegeur and surrounds, including representatives from various civic groups, attended a workshop on housing subsidies run by the City of Cape Town’s human settlements department, at the sub-council office on Saturday. The department’s Brian Denton explained how people were selected for housing projects and what it took to qualify for a subsidy, among other things. Mitchell’s Plain United Residents Association chairman Norman Jantjes, said: “The more educated people are on this, the more they can exercise their rights.”
