Thousands of Mitchell’s Plain residents converged on Eisleben Road, between Morgenster Road and Montagu Drive in Portland and The Cedars Avenue in Rocklands, during Open Streets on Sunday March 31. The road was closed from noon until 5pm, for pedestrians and cyclists to reclaim their street as a public space for walking, cycling, skating, playing, exploring and general socialising. Open Streets Cape Town, is a citizen-driven non-profit organisation, with the support of TUMI (Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative), the City of Cape Town, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), Nedbank Green Trust, volunteers, residents and friends.
