The City of Cape Town has announced that the entrance to Strandfontein beach will be temporarily closed from Monday November 16 to Monday November 30.
During this time, contractors will construct a new wooden staircase for public access. This forms part of the decommissioning of the Strandfontein desalination site.
Beachgoers are urged to avoid the construction site and make use of the rest of the facilities at Strandfontein instead. The Strandfontein Tidal Pool will also stay open to the public.
