The Water and Sanitation Department will be conducting a temporary shut down of the water supply in the Strandfontein area to test the valves ahead of an actual shutdown. Â
The test will run for two to three hours on Wednesday October 16 at 10am, ahead of the actual shutdown on Saturday October 26 in order to test the working conditions of the City’s isolation and scour valves on the bulk water pipeline.Â
The work conducted is in preparation for the tie-in on the bulk water pipeline that is proposed for the Strandfontein West injection point.
All taps should be kept closed during this period to prevent any water loss and/or damage when the water supply is restored.Â
