Pupils from Portland and Rocklands high schools participated in the Mitchell’s Plain debating competition at the sub-council office in Lentegeur, on Tuesday March 26. Eddie Andrews, councillor for Ward 78, budgets for this project every year, which he believes teaches youth critical thinking and social skills, and supports their development. Mr Andrews thanked literacy non-profit organisation Read to Rise, parents and Westridge library staff for their contribution to ensuring the event’s success.
