AZ Berman High School pupils were inspired and encouraged to pursue their “dream careers” at a career day programme on Thursday October 13.
The event at the Tafelsig school included representatives from the City’s Fire and Rescue Service, law enforcement and SAPS sharing information about their careers with pupils.
A Fire and Rescue Service tanker was on standby at the school, as were a law enforcement marine coastal display and SAPS members were at the school.
The career day was organised by Dale van Staden, a member of African Christian Democratic Party (ACDP) Youth League Mitchell’s Plain.
He said that the programme was targeted at encouraging quality decision-making about future prospects in government departments.
“We want to promote positivity and hope within all communities through life-long holistic development,” he said.
Previously a career day had been hosted at Imperial Primary School, in Beacon Valley (“Career day inspires youth”, Plainsman August 31).
