The Active Women’s Empowerment Project (AWEP) runs training courses at its Mitchell’s Plain training centre in Katjiepiering Street, Lentegeur.

According to Lynne Jaffer, the non-profit’s Mitchell’s Plain co-ordinator, the training in business and administration involves both theory and practical experience to help young people, specifically women, become entrepreneurs and create jobs.

Ms Jaffer says they also help students with social problems, such as drug abuse and domestic violence. For more information, call Ms Jaffer on 073 2728170.
