Thirteen family teams from across Cape Town came together to create culinary delights and compete against each other to create the best gourmet burger and the most decadent chocolate brownie sundae. “It was lovely cooking with my daughter. After the competition she started cooking more often. It is always nice to get the children to experience cooking with you, I always involve her and give her an opportunity to cook for my husband and I. It was a good time cooking with other families who were part of the competition,” said Ms Rushin.
Joe Stead, Spur’s creative director said this was their seventh Chief Cook event. “Our lives are so busy and this event is an opportunity for families to slow down, spend time in the kitchen making great food from scratch and enjoy each other’s company. As always it was really difficult to choose the winners,” he said.
