Westridge library held their annual reading competition in the library hall on Thursday May 23. Four primary schools, Westville, Ridgeville, Parkhurst and Duneside, took part in the competition. Each school entered three pupils, who read a passage, answered three questions and spelled three words in either English, Afrikaans or isiXhosa. All the pupils were a testament to their teachers’ hard work and dedication “as they strive to build a literate society,” said Maureen Williams, librarian at Westridge.
