For the second year running, Spine Road High School has topped the list of schools which have donated the most units of blood to the Western Province Blood Transfusion Services (WPBTS).
According to the organisation, the youth play a vital role in the sustainability of the organisation, and so they aim to forge good ties with educational institutions and set up blood donation clinics at them.
Currently, they have 117 blood donation clinics at educational institutions around the Western Cape, of which 94 are at high schools and 23 at tertiary institutions.
“We are delighted to share our top 10 schools in the Western Cape that have donated the most units of blood in 2018,” said WPBTS public relations officer, Michelle Vermeulen.
