Portland Primary School Grade 5 art pupils enjoyed a visit to Norval Foundation Art Museum, in Tokai, Friday May 20.
They were able to explore contemporary artworks with Lentegeur artist and mentor Mark Jeneker, founder of the Mark Jeneker Foundation.
The foundation hosts after-school programmes, where children learn to and enhance their painting, drawing and sculpting skills, in different parts of Mitchell’s Plain.
The pupils also received books detailing famous African masterpieces.
Mr Jeneker said a friend of his Shanaaz Dollie had invited them and thanked principal Eleanor Braaf for allowing them on the excursion.
“It teaches them to become good ambassadors and future leaders our community,” he said.
