Dynamic Seniors’ Club and Crisis Line Mitchells Plain partnered to host a Women’s Day programme at Town Centre library on Thursday August 11 where women were inspired to live their lives to the fullest. The programme included motivational speakers, song and dance. Dolphine Florence, child and youth care worker for the Department of Social Development, said: “We salute the special men in our lives – those who help the victims of rape and domestic violence. We should not push them aside.” She thanked the many women who shared their lives with her in trying to heal them. Ms Florence said she takes her hat off to people who lift themselves out of difficult circumstances and encouraged those who can help, to stand up and come forward.
