Police are investigating an attempted murder after a Tafelsig woman was shot several times when a suspected gangster entered her home and shot at her boyfriend.
The 36-year-old mother of three was shot in Grotto Street on Tuesday February 7, at around 10pm.
The gunman had entered the couple’s wendy house to shoot at the woman’s boyfriend and she had been hit by stray bullets, said Mitchell’s Plain police spokesman Sergeant Zandi Langa.
“Three cartridges were found on the scene,” she said.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on Thursday February 9 and appeared in Mitchell’s Plain Magistrate’s Court on Monday February 13.
Groote Schuur Hospital spokesman Alaric Jacobs said the woman, with multiple gunshot wounds, had arrived by ambulance from Mitchell’s Plain district hospital on Wednesday February 8 and had been discharged two days later.
