Young actress Mikha Mhlangu, 8, whose roots are firmly in Westridge, got to meet her idol when she played Sho Madjozi’s “mini me” in the video for her new song, Shahumba.
Mikha’s mom Karen, who now lives in Johannesburg but who grew up in Westridge and whose mom and extended family still stays there, said Mikha was “beyond excited” to meet the Tsonga pop star. Karen said Mikha has been doing TV ads since she was a baby and has even travelled overseas to shoot an international brand but added that this has been the highlight of her career.
“Mikha has loved her work for years and was blown away to finally get to meet her and play her in this video,” Karen said. “This experience is also the biggest entry to Mikha’s memory box to date.“
Of the experience Sho Madjozi tweeted: “Shoutout to Mikha who played mini me in Shahumba. What a star.”
