The first round of floodlit matches played at Stephen Reagon sports complex took place at the weekend. Former Springbok, Eddie Andrews, councillor for Ward 78, which includes Westridge and parts of Westgate and Portland, said in a Facebook post that R1 200 000 was allocated for the installation of floodlights in the last financial year and that hundreds of netball players will now have the opportunity to play under the lights. “Now additional age categories could be considered as part of the fixture lists ensuring young girls still play within their respective age groups,” he said.
