Popular long distance runner Brenda Human, from Strandfontein, died on Sunday January 10.
Running partner Percy Kelly described Human, who ran for Brackenfell, Metropolitan and Wild Runner athletics clubs, as “a mother, a loving, friendly and caring person”.
“Brenda was well known to thousands of athletes and friends because of her personality. She would always go the extra mile, even for strangers. A highlight of her running career was when she did the Kanniedood 10km in Beaufort West in February 2019. She came first in the masters age group 50, with a time of 1h:27:03. She was, for her efforts, awarded prize money and a gold medal,” said Kelly.
Human leaves behind her two daughters, Rae-Aimee and Danielle, and son Kingsley.
