Baseball champs

■  Some Western Cape baseball youth teams were crowned champions in their respective divisions at the South African Baseball  Union nationals in Port Elizabeth last month. The under-12 team won a gold medal and will be preparing for the World Cup in Taiwan, in July. The under-15 team, pictured, beat the Cape Town Baseball Federation 21-0 to be crowned the champs in their division. The under-18 team walked away with a silver medal after a 3-2 defeat to Gauteng in the final. Many of the Western Cape under-18 players will be gearing up for the Baseball World Cup in South Korea later this year.
