Westridge Community Police Forum (CPF) sub-forum and Merino Way Block Watch hosted a Women’s Day event on Saturday August 11 at their Merino Way house in Westridge.
The women received gifts at the Womens Day event on Saturday.

Member of the Western Cape provincial legislature, Ricardo Mackenzie and Ward 75 councillor, Joan Woodman hosted a Womens Day event on Monday August 5. National Womens Day was commemorated on Friday August 9, and the event was held to thank the women in the community doing the groundwork.
The female congregants of Christ the Mediator Anglican Church in Portland held a high tea at the Portland Indoor Sports Centre on Womens Day, Friday August 9. They were encouraged to celebrate their femininity and reminded of the important role women play in the home, society and community. They also acknowledged the plight of women who had experienced various forms of abuse. The highlight of the event was a talk by special guest, David Rees, who played Nick Naude in Egoli and Chris Welman in 7de Laan.
