Phenomenal Women hosted a Women’s Day breakfast at 3 Bears Academy, in Portland, on Thursday August 9.

Guests were encouraged to wear something green and to take a gently-loved, well cared for item of second-hand corporate wear to be used by women entering the work environment, in support of Dress for Success.

The global non-profit organisation gives professional attire to low-income women, to help support their job-search and interview process.

Guests included authors Sophia Susan Minnies, from Steenberg, who documented her life story in These Two Hands; and Grizelda Grootboom, who wrote Exit!.

Ms Grootboom was the guest speaker and shared her experience of human trafficking.

Copies of My Story, Volume One and Volume Two, compilations of stories written by women about their lives, are available from Veronica Sickle at 3 Bears Educare and Academy at R100 a copy.
