They have made hundreds of sandwiches, collected soap and hand sanitiser to be distributed to the most vulnerable – women and children in Beacon Valley and Tafelsig.
Volunteers at Nehemiah Call Initiative, based in Beacon Valley, within three days made 325 sandwiches last week.
On Wednesday April 1 they distributed 50 sandwiches and soap to children.
The initiative was headed by evangelist Pastor Dean Ramjoomia who also assessed the number of homeless people in Mitchell’s Plain and has been reaching out to them.
They have also donated goods to two people to cook food in their respective areas.
“We have reached hundreds of people in four areas in Mitchell’s Plain and are targeting the poorest of our people,” he said.
