Tafelsig residents marched against crime on Freedom Day, Wednesday April 27, making their way through Lost City and Freedom Park.
Community worker Graham Newman said gangsterism and drugs were of concern in the community and were affecting young and old.
“We want the ongoing violence to stop. We chose Freedom Day because it is a historic day and reminds us about the first democratic election that was held in our country. People fought hard and stood up for what was right. How can we say we are free if there is still so much crime happening in our areas? It is time we stand up and fight against crime,” he said.
