Mitchell’s Plain police are warning motorists to be vigilant after recording a high number of theft out of motor vehicle cases around the Town Centre.
According to Captain Ian Williams, spokesman at Mitchell’s Plain police station, Toyota Corollas and delivery trucks are being targeted in the vicinity of Polka and Tango squares.
Captain Williams urged residents to avoid parking where there are no security guards and encouraged them to ensure their doors and windows are locked.
“Valuable items like laptops and cameras should be put out of sight if left inside the car and detachable radios and radio faces should be removed at all times.
“Motorists should also make sure their cars are fitted with an alarm”.
