Over 1 000 people attended a mass boeka that took place in Van Rhyn Crescent, Tafelsig, on Sunday April 17.

Over 1 000 people attended a mass boeka that took place in Van Rhyn Crescent, Tafelsig, on Sunday April 17.

Igdienshirathal Mustaqeem Islamic Training and Development Centre (IMITD Centre), and the Van Rhyn Feeding Scheme and Development Centre hosted the community on Sunday, said co-ordinator Rafiq Larnie.

Moulana Nazeem De Beer from Darus Salaam Mosque Lost City and Moulana Sabrie Davids from Almasjieduth Thaanie in Rocklands were guest speakers at the Van Rhyn street boeka.

The community were fed akni curry dishes, boeber, soup, fruit, dates, water and juice, to name a few, said Mr Larnie.

“Our neighbours houses were used for distribution and prayer. We are so thankful to all our sponsors and everyone who put a hand in for making this event possible as well as our councillor Ms Harris and Nadia Moses from Nadia Moses Real Estate and staff who distributed a pot of soup. We are so grateful, to each and everyone,” said Mr Larnie.
