Fourteen hardworking pupils at Ridgeville Primary School, in Westridge, received stationery and uniforms from the South African Democratic Teachers Union (SADTU) on Friday January 24. Union representative Vusumzi V Mahobe said a lot of work still needed to be done to level the playing fields.“We need all schools to have the same resources, so that all pupils can achieve success,” he said. The school was built to house 720 pupils but has more than 1 000 pupils registered, and has up to 50 pupils in a classroom, with one teacher.
