Mitchell’s Plain police found two dead bodies in Tafelsig on Monday February 17.
The first was found at 7.55pm in Langeberg Street after police were informed about a shooting in the road. There they found the body of a 41-year-old man who had been shot in the face.
Police believe the shooting to have been gang-related but no arrests have yet been made.

Later that day, at 9.37pm, police found the body of a 31-year-old man who had been shot in the chest, in Simonsberg Crescent.
Investigations revealed that the man and his shooter had been involved in an argument and police subsequently arrested a 20-year-old man. A tip-off to police about a firearm being kept at a house in Maroela Street, Eastridge, led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man and the seizure of ammunition and a firearm, which had been stolen in Langebaan.
Police also seized 150 22mm rounds, 180 9mm rounds, 25 .38 special rounds and one R4 round.
The man, arrested on Sunday February 16, at 9.47pm, faces a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
Mitchell’s Plain police found another illegal firearm, this time in a car in Tafelsig on Monday February 17 at 4.30am.
When police spotted the Golf GTI in Megan Street, the driver attempted to drive off when he saw the officers approaching him.
When they searched the car, police found black and grey firearm on the driver’s seat, which they seized along with five rounds of ammunition and one cartridge. Four men and one woman, aged 27, 29, 29, 32 and 39 respectively, were arrested as none of them could produce a permit or firearm licence.
The suspects face a charge of unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition and are expected to appear in court soon.
