Two hijackings in Mitchell’s Plain were reported to police on the same day last week.
The first involved a 28-year-old Montclair woman who was hijacked in Montclair Drive on Wednesday March 29, at 6pm.
While sitting in her car, the woman had heard a hard knock on the window and then saw a man with a firearm.
When she unlocked the doors, two men got into the car and drove off.
The car was a silver 2009 model VW Polo with registration number ND 778729.

The second incident happened later that evening, when a man was hijacked in his company’s white Isuzu truck on the R300 bridge over AZ Berman Drive on Wednesday March 29, at 10pm.
According to police, a VW Polo passed the truck and the passenger pointed a firearm at the victim.
When he stopped the vehicle, men jumped out of the Polo and got into the truck.
They instructed the man to drive but he managed to jump out of the truck and run away.
The hijackers drove away with the truck.
No arrests have been made and the truck is yet to be found.

A total of 62 people were arrested in Mitchell’s Plain, for drug-related crimes, between
Friday March 24 and Friday March 31.
According to police 41 drug houses were searched and 10g of heroin, 44g of tik, 27g of mandrax and 125g of dagga, confiscated.
Police also visited two illegal shebeens, confiscated 68 litres of alcohol and arrested one man on liquor-related charges.
Mitchell’s Plain police spokesman Captain Ian Williams said crimes against women and children were a priority and were being addressed, with one arrest being made for these crimes last week.
A total of 26 cases had been reported.
The police also arrested 18 wanted suspects during five tracing operations.
Twenty-two businesses which sell second-hand goods, and 114 spaza shops were visited by police.
Captain Williams added that 21 vehicle checkpoints were held, during which 420 people were stopped and searched. One person was arrested for being in possession of dangerous weapon and 33 traffic fines were issued.
A case of arson has been opened after an incident in Pandora Street, Woodlands, on Saturday April 1, at 3.20am.
The 35-year-old resident had been sleeping when she heard something on the roof and breaking glass in her house.
When she got up, she saw a fire at her bedroom window and a beer bottle in the lounge.
No arrests have been made.
