■ Dolores Klink, 67, from Lentegeur, who has been living in a council house for about 32 years, received her title deed along with six other Lentegeur residents on Thursday April 12. These houses belonged to the City of Cape Town, but once they sign the title deeds, the house belongs to that specific person. “It is important to note that once the house belongs to you, you need to make sure you have insurance on your house. If anything happens to the house, the holder of the title deed will be held liable as the council cannot assist you if something happens to the house when the title deed is in your name,” said Ward 76 councillor Goawa Timm.
