A 28-year-old man was killed in a suspected gang-related shooting on an open field near Falstaff Street, Eastridge, around 9pm on Sunday July 22.
Police say the man was shot in the back. No arrests have been made.

A week earlier, on Saturday July 14, a man was shot dead in Stromboli Street, Tafelsig.
When police responded to the shooting, at about 7.45pm, they found the 23-year-old man lying in the street with multiple bullet wounds to his body. He was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.
It is alleged that the deceased had been walking in the street when unknown gunmen in a blue VW Citi Golf approached him and fired several shots from the car.
A case of murder is being investigated.
On Thursday July 19, at about 1pm, Mitchell’s Plain police arrested a 19-year-old who handed himself over in connection with the shooting. He is expected to appear in court soon.
On Saturday July 21, police were called to the scene of a shooting in Larkspur Street, Lentegeur, where a 26-year-old man had been shot in the chest at about 4.25pm.
The man was taken to hospital. Police, who are investigating a case of attempted murder, believe the incident to be gang-related and have not made any arrests yet.
