Mitchell’s Plain teenagers are encouraged to go do their homework and be empowered to read at Town Centre library’s Teen Zone every Tuesday and Thursday between 3.30pm and 5pm: and every alternate Friday, from February 2. Hadjira Sydow, assistant librarian specialising in music, said it was a safe space where teens could express their views and reach their potential, with positive influence and energy. She said they had afternoon discussions regarding homework strategies, social media, their priorities and social ills. “Many children cannot express themselves at home and find comfort in sharing their stories,” she said.
