Soup in a jar

Eastridge neighbourhood watch members, supporters and sponsors made soup jars.

Eastridge neighbourhood watch members, supporters and sponsors put legumes, soup mix, flavouring and binding agents in a jar, which you take home, pour into a pot of water, cook and voila – you have soup.

Each of the five block captains were tasked with identifying needy households in their community.

They filled the jars with dry soup ingredients and distributed them to about 100 families from a house in Rietbok Crescent, in Eastridge, on Mandela Day Monday July 18.

They were joined by Mitchell’s Plain Community Police Forum (CPF), metro police, SAPS had tendered their apologies and Norman Adonis, councillor for Ward 92.
