The Church of the New Testament in Woodlands donated soup and bread to 400 people in the community on Friday June 12. When Pastor Steve Jacobs and his team fed the people on Friday they made sure they followed protocol by sanitising hands and by using a rope marked with red spray to ensure physical distancing was maintained. Shoprite’s head office donated 52 loaves of bread and pots of soup, to the church, which had been fund-raising for two months. “My vision was to feed more people. People are hungry and we need to assist the best way we can,” said Mr Jacobs. They will be handing out food at the church again on Friday June 19.
