Maxwell Heugh, from Beacon Valley, celebrated his 90th birthday yesterday, Tuesday April 10.
He was born in his family home in Elsies River in 1928. He is a dear member of the Leadwood Seniors’ Club and is a crooner of note.
Mr Heugh would always belt out a tune or two at their gatherings. The club meets every Wednesday at Town Centre library at 10am.
He attributes his longevity to his love for dance and music.
Mr Heugh worked for the Cape Town City Council for 40 years, until retirement at age 65.
He belongs to Christ Redeemer Anglican Church, in Portland, and has lived in Beacon Valley for 32 years.
