A Westridge-registered organisation was able to feed dozens of people in Tafelsig with the help of donors.
Lighthouse Abuse Outreach Organisation cooks, Gertrude Marinus and her daughter Carmen, received soup and bread from Shoprite, which they distributed on Friday October 22.
Chief executive officer George Marinus says he wants to do more in Mitchell’s Plain.
He is a trauma counsellor and helps women and children who were abused.
“There are even men that are going through abuse with their partners.
“They are free to come speak to me,” he said.
