The City of Cape Town held a service delivery expo at the Nelson Mandela Family and Youth Centre (Thusong Centre), in Tafelsig on Thursday June 15. At the event were ward councillors, line department members, community organisations and about 120 residents. Mayoral committee member for area south, Eddie Andrews, presented the Organisational Development and Transformation Plan (ODTP) to residents and explained how it works. At the event was a SmartCape stand where residents could access the internet from the venue. Also there were representatives of the Revenue, Human Settlements, Social Development, Disaster Risk Management, and Law Enforcement departments. Reporter KAYLYNN PALM was at the event.

The sport and recreation department runs programmes at community centres and events. Library and Information Services representatives Marlene Nelson, Bonita Lesch and Estelle Williams read to the Isibindi children at the event. Isibindi is a national government project run by the Mustadafin Foundation to provide child and youth care services to young people in their homes. The child and youth care workers connect with children and build relationships with them through daily interaction.
