Three armed men were part of a fatal cash-in transit robbery.
The three men, ages unknown, were dressed in security uniform and arrived at a mall in Beacon Valley in a cloned security vehicle, said Sergeant Jerome Voegt, spokesperson for Mitchell’s Plain SAPS.
Two pistols and one rifle were taken along with three bags and eight canisters of cash, the amount is unknown, said Sergeant Voegt.
A male security guard, 42, was shot twice by the suspect in the neck and shoulder and died. The three suspects fled the scene at 12.05pm on Thursday September 3.
